COACHING NOW: Inclusive Coaching for a Changing World

An accredited professional coach education programme that supports Coach Training Providers to understand the profound significance of diversity, social justice, equity and inclusion in Coaching, with a specific reference to race.

Why is it different?

The lack of dialogue on diversity, inclusion, racial identity, and systemic inequities within existing coaching frameworks and curricula leave unexamined parts of us that we believe represent integral elements to being a professional, ethical, and inclusive coach.

Our unique coach education programme is designed and delivered by a racial equity & belonging consultant and Executive Coach. This programme is geared towards equipping you for action, through our Consciousness Raising & Critical Reflection Learning Framework.

The Key features of Our Training Curriculum:
The Raising Racial Consciousness (RRC) training curriculum maps to the EMCC & ICF Coaching competency framework, however, goes beyond those frameworks to:

Develop ‘racial consciousness’ equipping you with the knowledge, racial literacy, and confidence to drive meaningful change within your organisation and coaching practice.

Develop your ‘critical consciousness’ as a coach, supporting you to critically analyse the social, political, and cultural factors that influence coaching practices.

Understand the nexus of Power/Knowledge in coaching practices, enabling you to better understand and navigate ideological power structures that may exist in coaching or training environments.

Demystifies diversity, equity and inclusion work, to understand its significance in coaching.

Develop a psychosocial understanding of race, racialisation, and racism, examining their relevance to our identity, values & beliefs as coach practitioners.

Explore how systemic inequality may be explicitly addressed in in Coaching and consider how you can work towards creating more equitable and effective coaching relationships and environments.

What have others had to say about training with RRC?

“An exceptional experience from start to finish. Such attention to detail and as much focus on asychronous learning as synchronous. Exceptional facilitation from Bernice”. January, 2024”

“I had high hopes and they were delivered for this programme. I can sense a strong desire to move towards action but from a position of being far better informed”. February, 2024

“Bernice held the space for our group to work our way through the more challenging aspects of the programme. The 121s offered an opportunity to reflect on my learning & helped to make sense of the feelings that were surfacing for me”. May, 2023

Why coaching and why now?

We know that what is brought to coaching is always against a backdrop of the current global dynamics – societal, economical, and political. As coaches, mentors and supervisors, our knowledge gaps about inequality and racism, how it manifests and reproduces today in the workplace, mean that despite good intentions we are ill equipped to change the system.
The coaching profession has a plethora of tools, models, and new practices.
This Coach education programme supports you to:

Reflect on the theoretical foundations of your practice.

Consider how your practice might promote social justice and racial equity.
